OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

  • Start at Home: We believe in the importance of demonstrating change first within our own lives, families, organizations and communities
  • Support Individual Learning: We believe that each individual aspires to a better future and will act on those aspirations when provided with experiential opportunities to learn, grow and engage with others in positive action
  • Provide a Positive, Hopeful Vision: We believe in seeing crises as opportunities and in holding out a positive, hopeful vision for the future
  • Recognize Inter-Connectedness: At the foundation of our work is a recognition that the fate of humanity is irrevocably tied to the fate of the biosphere
  • Stay Grounded in Science: We believe in the greatness of science as a tool for understanding our world and for grounding our aspirations in practical life
  • Work in Partnership: We believe in the importance of working with other groups and organizations to discover our shared values and realize our shared aspirations.
  • Public Policies Support Personal Change: We believe all positive social change flows from a change of heart within the individual. We also believe public policies can support or hinder this change of heart and the actions that would grow from it
